My very first publication resulted from collaborative work with Dr. Laura Van Dorn, a post doctoral fellow in the Cordes lab. We completed these studies during my second year of undergraduate study. We called this the Chameleon Sequence project because we successfully designed a portion of Cro protein that would adopt two different secondary structures depending on the context in which it placed.
